SES operated the WRC for North One Television for over 10 years building a bespoke media village out of 6 second hand vehicles that SES refurbished and then operated for all European events. The unit modifications ranged from edit and broadcast units, a timing unit, media area, presentation area and logistics for all equipment used at each event.
Over a 10 year period, the rally took SES all over Europe ranging from the king of Jordan’s private bodyguards escorting us through Jordan for the Jordan Rally, -36 degrees in Sweden, driving through Israel when the Iraq border was closed to having to try and organise a coach to get the 60 North One personnel back from Turkey when the Iceland volcanic ash cloud grounded planes. The WRC changed direction, so it didn’t need the big media villages, but SES still support the WRC as an organization.
